In many different extended universe stories, it is made clear that Predators are responsible for the expansion of Xenomorph life across the cosmos as they regularly kidnap Queens and place them on random worlds for the aliens to conquer.

However, as the lore of both Alien and Predator expanded, it became clear that the Xenomorph skull in Predator 2 meant so much more than anyone could have known. The inclusion of the Xenomorph skull in Predator 2 was originally more of a nod to fans than it was an admission of Predators’ cultural obsession with Xenomorphs as, at that point, many fans wanted an Alien vs Predator film franchise and this easter egg was perhaps the closest thing they were going to get. While there were a few human skulls on the wall, this trophy case contained unknown species from a number of unseen worlds throughout the cosmos–including one alien creature that was very well known among the fanbase: a Xenomorph. However, while the movie itself wasn’t great, it did give fans a deeper look into the Predator species, as the main protagonist of the film actually entered a Yautja ship and found a wall dedicated to the intergalactic hunter’s trophies (those being alien skulls). This change was a bold one, but it didn’t quite resonate with audiences–leading to the franchise returning to a setting reminiscent of the original in two subsequent installments of the series. where it stalked and hunted gang members and police officers as opposed to guerilla soldiers and mercenaries.

Rather than taking place in a jungle setting, Predator 2 brought the Yautja to the streets of L.A. Predator 2 is the sequel to the widely popular 1987 film, Predator–and aside from a few cool scenes, Predator 2 failed to live up to the standard set by the original. Fans of the Predator franchise are familiar with the iconic ‘Trophy Room’ scene in Predator 2, but what they may not have initially noticed was that this scene was hiding the Yautja's greatest obsession right in plain sight.
